INTRODUCTION

The Capital One VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card is a good entry-level no fee card for points and miles collectors.

There is a valuable sign-up bonus that is easy to obtain, and good ongoing earnings (for a no-fee card) of at least 1.25%. A 15-month 0% APR and a bonus $100 credit for travel bookings through Capital One Travel make it even more appealing for in the first year.

Miles can be redeemed simply for a statement credit for travel, with a value of one cent per mile. They can also be transferred to VentureOne Rewards partner airline and hotel loyalty programs – potentially offering a higher value for certain rewards.

This a travel-focused card, with higher earnings for travel and good partner transfer options. It does not have the extensive perks and benefits of other fee-based travel cards, but users could always trade up later to a more rewarding paid card.

MAIN CARD BENEFITS:

No annual fee.

A 15-month 0% APR on purchases – amongst the longest available.

No-fee access to Capital One and its transfer partners – this is essentially a cut-down version of Chase’s higher fee cards.

A sign-up bonus of 20,000 miles when spending just $500 in the first 3 months.

A first-year credit of $100 for travel (flights, hotels, and car rental) bookings with Capital One Travel (this was on offer in August 2025 but could change).

Miles earnings of 5 miles per dollar on hotel and car bookings through Capital One Travel, and 1.25 miles per dollar on everything else.

Miles can be transferred to over 15 hotel and airline programs, for maximum value. In the US, this includes JetBlue but not the main legacy airlines (American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines).

Complimentary Hertz Five Star status.

No foreign transaction fees.

WHO IS THE CARD FOR:

The Capital One VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card is a good entry point card for those looking to use points for hotel or airline awards. It has simple miles earning and access to a range of transfer partners.

Higher spenders may want to consider the mid-range Capital One Venture Rewards card. This has an annual fee of $95, but earns miles at a higher rate. It also has an excellent sign-up bonus that would suit a higher spending user.

PROS:

Good sign-up bonus for a no-fee card, awarded after just $500 spending.

Easy way to access airline rewards, with a no-fee miles earning card.

CONS:

The bonus of 5 miles per dollar for bookings through Capital One Travel does not include flights.

The sign-up bonus and ongoing earning are both much lower than the Venture Rewards card – consider whether you would get more value from this.

VentureOne Rewards travel rewards partners are limited in the US – they do not include any major US airline loyalty program.
